From Scan to Model
A Full Reverse Engineering Workflow
Below are a few snapshots from a recent project where AIT Services Inc. used our 3D Laser Scanner to capture, model, and reproduce a 75-foot-long automatic sub-arc welding system (seamer). These images demonstrate the precision and versatility of our scanning technology — from real-world captures to detailed digital drawings.
Inventor Line Drawing
This is a line drawing of the automatic welding system made on our Inventor Design and Drafting program from the scan taken by our 3D Laser Scanner. A person can rotate the drawing to show the automatic welding system from any direction and zoom in to show the smallest of details and every dimension.
3D Model from Scan
This 3D model, developed from the laser scan data, shows the welding system with the large cylindrical tube in welding position. The digital model allows for visualization, design refinement, and the creation of accurate assembly drawings.
